Gemstones are not only beautiful but are believed to carry special properties. They have been worn in jewelry for thousand of years. Lapis, Malachite and Carnelian were used by the Egyptians, Emeralds by the Incas, Jade by the Chinese and Turquoise by the Native Americans. Many of these great cultures used gems and minerals for healing and transformation purposes. As diverse and distant as many cultures may have been, they often reached the same conclusions on gemstone properties.
